About us

The Ministry of Social Policy is a central executive authority responsible for developing and implementing the state policy for social protection. Operations of the Ministry are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Mission

To create conditions for well-being and decent life in the barrier-free environment in Ukraine via accessible and understandable services. To preserve and develop the human capital, to ensure social protection and support for the citizens in most need.

Our goals

• to reboot the social support system and to enhance its performance;
• to develop social services;
• to protect children’s rights and interests, and to facilitate their upbringing in a family environment;
• to facilitate inclusion of persons with disabilities into social life;
• to ensure efficiency of pension and social insurance;
• to promote active longevity;
• to simplify and digitalise the system of social payments and services;
• to ensure equal rights and opportunities for women and men, to prevent and counter domestic violence, gender-based violence and trafficking in human beings;
• to help victims of sexual violence related to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

We are shaping the fair and safe society based on equal rights where every human and their needs are the supreme value. We are guided by the principles of social justice by ensuring equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of their social status, sex, age and physical abilities. There is a special focus on formation of the barrier-free environment.

All the policies and programmes of the Ministry are focused on the citizens’ needs and interests. These policies guarantee equal access to all the social services and assistance to everyone, with no restrictions or discrimination.

We cooperate with state institutions, non-governmental organizations, businesses and international partners to reach common goals. It includes exchange of experience and resources to improve the quality of social services.

Another goal of the Ministry is to engage citizens into decision making in connection with their rights and well-being by emphasising the importance of everyone’s participation in development of the social policy.

Priorities

Supporting people at every life stage is the Ministry’s priority, from parenthood planning, childhood and adult age to decent life in the old age.

The best digital services are implemented into the social sphere for this purpose so that practically all the services will be supported online, and social services will be more accessible.
