The Ministry of Social Policy's project "Electronic Case Management," which enables online applications for social services, has been shortlisted as a nominee for the 2024 European Social Services Awards in the "Digital Transformation" category. The awards ceremony took place in Lisbon, Portugal.

"We are excited to share this great news — a Ukrainian project is among the finalists of the prestigious Social Services Awards 2024. Previously, we studied and followed global best practices, and now we are sharing our own experience with European colleagues. This achievement was made possible thanks to the hard work of our team, ongoing collaboration with field experts, and support from international partners. Such recognition motivates us to keep moving forward, creating convenient services for Ukrainians in the social sector," said Kostiantyn Koshelenko, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization (CDTO).

This year’s award theme is “Promoting Inclusive Communities,” with a primary focus on innovative projects and organizations dedicated to providing social services within communities. A total of 45 organizations from 19 countries made it to the shortlist across six categories. In the "Digital Transformation" category, besides the "Electronic Case Management" project, five other projects were completed.

A unique feature of the electronic case management system presented by the Ministry of Social Policy team is that it offers a digital solution for each party involved in the social service delivery process.

Applications for social services can now be submitted online, eliminating the need to visit social protection offices or administrative service centers. On the Ministry’s Social Portal, users can also submit notifications regarding individuals needing social support, and in their personal account, they can track the status of their request. Since all necessary documents are stored within the system, social protection employees can process these requests faster, while social service providers can better manage their team’s workload.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Social Policy will join the European Social Network, an announcement made during the second digital forum "GLOBAL DIGITAL SOCIAL FORUM 2024: Empowering Communities."

The Social Services Awards 2024 (ESSA) is an annual award from the European Social Network (ESN) that recognizes achievements in social services and promotes successful new approaches and practices across Europe. Ukrainian projects have previously been recognized through this award, with the project "Automation of Social Protection for Internally Displaced Persons in Ukraine" winning in the "Digital Transformation" category in 2023.
